Hilton-Baird duo raise over £2,500

Congratulations to Alex Hilton-Baird and James Burgess, who raised a total of £2,600 in aid of the British Heart Foundation by completing the New Forest Half Marathon yesterday.

Donning their very own Hilton-Baird t-shirts, the pair completed the 13 mile course in front of hordes of supporters at the finish line outside Arnewood School, New Milton, clocking respectable times of 2.02:52 and 2.15:29 respectively.

With your support, Alex and James smashed their initial target of £1,000, with all the money raised going to the British Heart Foundation.

The fantastic charity is close to Alex’s heart in particular having been born with ‘heart murmur’, which resulted in a hole in his heart reaching the size of a 50 pence piece by the time he was 8 years old. Given the option of being confined to a bed by the time he was 20 or having open heart surgery, Alex opted for the surgery, which ultimately changed his life.

A huge thanks to those of you who donated to this worthy cause. Click here to read more about the British Heart Foundation and how you can also get involved.
