First-time winners at Golf and Shooting Day

Noel Ruddy (PDT Solicitors) blasted his way to a narrow victory at the Hilton-Baird Group’s seventh annual Golf & Shooting Day, held last Tuesday at Remedy Oak Golf Club.

With an impressive score of 39 points from a handicap of 18, Noel finished two shots clear of Ilya Kondrashov (Market Invoice) and Ed Rimmer (1PM), who sneaked into second place on countback.

Noel’s exploits on what was a scorching day in Dorset helped to guide his four-ball to the team prize, alongside Dennis Pym (Nucleus Commercial Finance), Bill Betty (Lloyds Bank Commercial Finance) and Neil Galer (Hilton-Baird Financial Solutions).

Neil Dawson’s (Aldermore Asset Finance) wonderful tee shot on the 13th saw him claim the nearest to pin award, sponsored by Pitch! Marketing, while James Loveday’s (Leumi ABL) booming drive saw him claim the longest drive prize, which was sponsored by Loxbear Advisory.

A special mention too to Jamie Allan (Experian) for his adrenaline-fuelled approach to the 18th green which, after one bounce, ended up in the clubhouse and didn’t break anything!

The shooting competition was even tighter. In what was a close-fought battle until the final clay, Andrew Watling’s (Quantuma) 26 out of 30 was enough to see off the challenge of Andrew Johnson (FTI Consulting), who hit 25 clays out of 30. Ian Tramaseur (Hilton-Baird Group) finished a further one clay back in third place.

Kathy Hartley (Bibby Financial Services) won the ladies prize after hitting 21 clays out of 30.

Congratulations to all of the winners on the day and thank you to everyone who attended to make it a very special day in the Hilton-Baird Group’s 20th year.
